This plant has been named Trema orientalis by Pacific Island Ecosystems at Risk (PIER) website. Based on their research, T. cannabina and T. orientalis appears to be the same species. Furthermore, T. cannabina and T. tomentosa appear to be very similar and it is very difficult to tell them apart. In Singapore, in the book "The concise flora of Singapore: gymnosperms and dicotyledons" by Hsuan Keng published in 1990 (page 66) has described T. cannabina and T. orientalis separately. Also, in the book "The Natural Heritage of Singapore, Third Edition, 2010" by Hugh TW Tan (page 63-64), T. cannabina and T. tomentosa were described separately as separate plants. I have chosen to keep to T. cannabina for the time being.
