The accepted name of this costal plant is not very clear to me. Based on Aluka website, P. corymbosa is a synonym of P. serratifolia. However, there was no listing of P. corymbosa as a synonym of P. serratifolia in the GRIN database. In Singapore, the plant is usually called P. corymbosa as indicated in the wildsingapore website. Since both Aluka and GRIN database treat P. serratifolia as accepted name, I have kept to this name.

Later, I found that in the book "A Field Guide to the Native Garden st Hortpark" published in 2010 (page 97),the plant was named P. foetida with the synonym as P. obtusifolia. I have decided not to change the name of this plant in my website until more clarity is available.

This plant is quite similar in appearance to another coastal plant, Callicarpa glabrifolia.
