I had been observing a new colony of this fern on a tree trunk of the Penang Sloe (Kopsia arborea) since I first saw it in July 2010. At first, I thought that it was a kind of new fern that I had not seen before. The tree was located in a park near my place and the position of the fern was at eye level, which made it easy for me to follow its development. Some photos of this colony are shown below.
