The germinating seeds with the roots that appear to be yellow in colour.

The whole fruit (syncarp) which is formed by multiple fruits has a very pungent smell even before it is pried open. Its skin is rather sticky. The fresh of the individual fruit is yellow and much softer but more pungent than a similar fruit from the same family, Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus). Each fruit has a large seed.
